This Lodge was consecrated by the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. Rev T Robinson at the Lullingstone Masonic Hall on 17th September 1884. The petition which only had 3 signatures, was even more surprising insofar as the meeting that resolved to proceed with the Lodge consisted of two Mark Masons and 16 Craft Masons.As the meeting took place at a Greenwich Tavern, enthusiasm was considerable. A further Mark Mason had to be recruited before Grand Mark Lodge allowed the petition to proceed, which it did with great rapidity. Within five weeks of the original meeting the Consecration took place. Just prior to this the Provincial Grand Master advance 13 Candidates in two batches of 7 and 6.  Within months the Worshipful Master resigned and within a few short years the remaining Brethren were considering a resolution to disband the Lodge. This did not happen but recruitment continued to be a serious problem. in 1907 sanction was sought from Provincial Grand Lodge and Grand Lodge to hold meetings in future in London. This was agreed and a number of venues in London have continued to this day, whilst staying as a Kent Lodge. This hardly solved the membership problem until V.W.Bro F.W. Friday when he was Deputy Provincial Grand Master persuaded V.W Bro Fairbrass P. Dist G.W. Bombay and V.W. Brother (later R.W.Bro) Leslie Austin to join the Lodge to try and obtain new Members. This with others they were successful in doing and the Lodge was revitalised.

      The only time the Lodge has met in Kent in recent times was the Centenary meeting that was held at Prince George Duke of Kent, the Royal Masonic Benevolent Home on 29th February 1984. The Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro G.P. Rudgaurd JP presented the Lodge with the Centenary Warrant.
The Provincial Grand Master was accompanied by the rest of the Provincial Executive the Lodge Treasurer V.W.Brother L. Austin, then Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Surrey (later Provincial Grand Master) presented Bro G.P. Rudgaurd with a cheque for £1250 for the Kent Mark Benevolent Fund 1985 Festival. A guest of the LodgeV.W.Bro C.F.W Dyer returned to the Lodge a Past Masters Jewel dated 1933 that had come into his possession. It was decided that this jewel should in future should be presented to each succeeding Immediate Past Master. The practice has been continued to this day.

     Although in the early days there was a close connection with the Borough of Greenwich Craft Lodge No 2332 and the Greenwich Council this has not been the case for many years. The Members decided recently to petition the change the name to Greenwich Lodge which was approved and done.
